Termites

Environpest are well placed to provide advice in the termite issue nationally. We have examined the termite issue thoroughly, and addressed the government Termite Working Group that produced the Queensland Building Code amendments. 

If you are a builder or a homeowner with a house that has been treated repeatedly with little result, and you are looking for the REAL answer to the problem, you’ve come to the right place. We are well versed in the various disciplines of termite protection, and are keenly aware of the benefits and limitations of each. An extensive library of over 65,000 photographs detailing contributory building and building occupant practices is available to our clients, with professional reporting available on individual situations Australia wide.

Environpest offer true independent advice, and can inspect, assess, report, and write the treatment specification for works to be carried out by other pest control firms.

For builders, we offer a service for your trade nights, where we can do a Powerpoint presentation to your contractors and staff. We can show (with graphic photos and diagrams) the building practices that can bring a termite protection system undone, and the building methods that can substantially reduce the cost of termite protection. A light hearted presentation of photographs from the "how it should be done" style to the "that couldn't possibly happen on our site" style. Presentations can range from 20 minutes to 2 hours, with a question and answer format to finish. With a little bit of thought and effort, there are some real savings to be made in termite protection, and the risk of your following trades damaging the termite protection systems can be substantially reduced.

Fumigation

Environpest are highly experienced in the fumigation field, from containers to ships, to grain and perishable commodity fumigation. Environpest are Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) registered fumigators and stakeholders. Environpest have fumigated approximately 60 buildings for the Department of Primary Industries - Forestry for the control of the West Indian Drywood Termite Cryptotermes brevis. We have fumigated buildings in Central Business District Brisbane, Bundaberg, and Thursday Island. Environpest have designed and built fruit fumigation chambers that have significantly increased the shelf life of perishable commodities, such as imported USA citrus. By establishing air flows that distribute the gas effectively, and ventilation methods that strip the gas quickly from the fumigation, all the AQIS requirements are met, and fruit with a much improved shelf life is provided.
