Termite Treatment
Under Digging Plumbing
When it comes to plumbing crossing a footing, or passing through a footing, in doing retrospective termite treatment it is imperative a full and continuous barrier is formed.
In this instance, termites were travelling behind the plumbing, and under the ant capping into the home. The ant capping is really only a waterproofing flashing in this instance. If you look closely, you'll see the mud pack staining to the left hand side above the plumbing stack.
The pavers were removed, and the area trenched.
The plumbing was completely under-dug to ensure a full and continuous barrier.
A replacement soil was used, and flooded with Biflex at it's 1 litre per 100 litre rate. Labelled expected protection period of at least 10 years. The pavers were re-laid over the treated area. If termites were to recur from this area within the labelled expected protection period (at least 10 years) after this treatment, we'd certainly have some questions to ask of FMC.
